R.I. gas prices keep rising -- even as oil prices, economy fall
I was trying to find a dealer with good prices on heating oil. I found this website helpful because it has a list of all the dealers in Rhode Island:
http://www.rhodeislandheatingoil.com/
The website helped me save .25 cents per gallon.
Good luck

Update: Another Internet retailer cuts RI ties over sales tax
I hope this comes back and bites our GA by causing a loss in tax revenue vs an increase. All of you non state, unionized workers out there please vote out the Fox's, Murphys, Paive Weeds, Cosantinos, etc in your districts. They along with the lynches and the Caprios will continue to pillage this state for thier own personal gains.

Carpenter union on strike against contractor group
Focusing on the messager is not the answer. Makes you look like thugs. Especially when it appears that $50.45 per hour or $100,000 per year to get going..Not including offertime....plus the raises...is not enough for a carpenter. Sad to say that in this day and age most doctors who spend 7 years minimum in college/university, and who deal with life and death daily, don't even make that much money. This is the issue with collective bargaining. Heres a great idea, why not all types of job classes unionize...we can all fight over how we are going to get paid and not have to work a stitch. Utopia!

the agc is clearly out for the contractor. im just glad we have a union who is there for the men and women who do all the work. also where is all the other trades hourly rates?????????? we get paid the least of all the trades but get picked on the most. the agc didnt see the need to put in the paper that we dont get paid holidays or sick days.

The froydiant errors and omissions on Andersons’ part include the large number of changes in the language of the contract which is the real show-stopper. Many of which were agreed to by the AGC team who reneged at the last minute. The other trades were not subjected to this condition. In fact other trades benefited by jurisdictional changes by their reassigning our work to lesser paid workers.
Any reasonable person would see thought the crock offered up by Anderson that with all of the other trades he listed as being agreeable to their proposal, money is the only issue. However it does seam to be the only issue that he can recall!
The RWC dormitory was being staffed with local 94 carpenters not Ma. carpenters(as were many other projects in the state) before Anderson wrote his article.
Andersons’ closing statement sums up the mentality of the AGC’s collective bargaining committee. In this day and age, let’s take everything that we can from the “kids” and stave them out.
My wife understands the issues and supports my vote against the present AGC proposal. I can only hope that Anderson’s significant other, upon realizing that his statement to the media was hogwash, will pressure him to return to the bargaining table with a positive / cooperative attitude.
Men and women don’t consciously decide to vote to stop they livelihood without a great deal of thought and stress. We can’t just go into the unemployment office and file a claim! If Anderson honestly thinks that we would take that kind of a risk only to “dominate the construction industry” then he would have to be considered to be a moron! And yes Eric, some of us my risk losing our houses!!!!
Just because we work with our hands, doesn’t not make us second class citizens. We have spent years establishing a standard of living for both union (and yes) non-union carpenters that will allow us a decent living and the ability to retire some degree of dignity. Andersons’ level of authority in the AGC, compiled with his condescending attitude (reflected in his chose of words (e.g. kids, nutty)) re-enforce the need our unions fight to maintain and hopefully improve what we have to date.

"Kids"? They trust these carpenters with projects worth hundreds of millions of dollars and on day 2 of a dispute they resort to calling them kids?! Nice.
Seems the AGC just wanted to pat the carpenters on the head, give them the same cookie cutter deal they gave the other trades and send them back off to the jobs.
Anderson seems to suggest carpenters aren't smart enough to make their own decisions; that their wives and significant others will pressure them to take "what's good for them."
The contractors don't have anything at risk here in this day and age when companies are filing for bankruptcy and struggling to win contracts?
The mention of contractors looking for memorandums of understanding seems to indicate maybe some contractors think Anderson, et al are out of their minds and maybe will talk to the AGC about becoming "more reasonable" soon.
The arrogance of Anderson is a bit offputting, especially in comparison with the tone of the union's comments.
Act like adults, get back to the bargaining table and get a deal done.

Few problems reported after switch to digital TV
I could not agree more. I have done hours of research, tried three inside antennas, cannot afford even basic no-box cable much less dish or FiOS or wi-fi or whatever. I just now found out that one reason is the master roof-top antenna is only supposed to receive VHF although it was quite capable of receiving UHF (36, 38 and 56) for years.
My research came up with an assurance that there are strong signals for WLNE (ABC), WJAR (NBC) and WPXQ (ION); moderate signals for WNAC (FOX), WPRI (CBS), WLWC (CW) and WSBE (PBS); weak signals for WGBH (PBS), WBZ (CBS), WCVB (ABC), WHDH (NBC), WGBX (PBS) and WLVI (CW); and no signal for any of the others. I wonder why I get rather pixellated WNAC/WPRI conjoined. I get a hint of WHDH and something called THIS TV which is completely new and completely worthless.
It was relatively easy to install the converter box but it didn't take me long to understand that the converter box is the inexpensive part of the problem. No matter how digitally-ready your tuner is, you must have a signal!!!!!!!!! Nobody talked about the importance of the signal during this conversion.
I just found some reference to FCC installers but they come from a commercial firm with no explainable connection between it and the US federal government. The company is Canadian, not American. How am I to know if it is a legitimate offer?
Many, many thumbs down!!! Nobody even bothered to experiment anywhere to see if this could work much less if it would work!!!
The antenna was just great at picking up analog Boston Channels 4,5, 7, 38 and 56, sometimes with crystal clarity, from Feb. 17th to June 12th. I lost Channel 36 in January and, despite the digital converter box, still get fuzzzzz!
