SMITHFIELD, R.I. -- Government agencies will be eyed as more than the sources of speeding tickets and income tax forms this week at a special job fair to be held on the campus of Bryant University. More than 600 college students from across the state are expected to attend the fair which will give attendees a chance to explore career opportunities with representatives from 34 government agencies, ranging from the Boston Fire Department to the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The job fair will be held Thursday from 2 to 5 p.m. at Bryant's Multipurpose Activities Center. People interested in attending are asked to register in advance by visiting a secure website. A partial list of participating agencies includes the U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the Federal Bureau of Prisons, the Massachusetts Division of Banks and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. This is the second government career fair held at Bryant this year and the first drew more than 630 job seekers. |
