Trading on Wall Street resumes at 9:30 a.m. after the three day holiday weekend with the three major indexes all in positive territory in 2009. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 7.6 percent. The Nasdaq Composite Index gained 28 percent and the Standard & Poor's 500 Index up 12.5 percent. The 2009 results were mixed among Rhode island-based companies. Woonsocket-based CVS (CVS:NYSE) gained 29.4 percent. Pawtucket-based Hasbro (HAS:NYSE) is off 1.6 percent. Providence-based Textron (TXT:NYSE) gained 23 percent. |
