By Bruce Landis PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce said that its members can now band together to buy electricity at lower-than-normal prices. Called the Providence Power Program, the arrangement allows small and medium sized businesses to get better prices and services normally available to large commercial customers, the chamber said in a statement inviting its members to sign up. She said the program will give participants "the ability lock in prices over the long term, allowing for greater budget certainty than might be available from the utility or from plans that fluctuate with the energy market." The chamber said that there is no fee for its members who join and that Constellation won't add fees or charges to businesses that switch electricity suppliers. The program will host a webinar on Sept. 28 and a seminar Oct. 6. Constellation is at 1-866-237-7693. The program's Web site is www.newenergy.com/provchamber.
