The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission on Wednesday recalled 1 million play yards after reports that the product's side rails sometimes fail to latch, causing injuries to some children.
In all, 21 injuries, including one concussion and several cases of minor bumps or bruises, have been reported, according to a statement from the commission.
The play yards were marketed under various trade names, including Kolcraft, Carter's, Sesame Street, Jeep, Contours, Care Bear and Eric Carle. They were sold nationwide at Babies R Us, Wal-mart, Kmart, Sears, Target and at other stores, as well as on the Internet.
