PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Rob Holtzer, currently General Sales Manager at Sunrise Sports and Entertainment in Miami, has been named the new vice president and director of sales for Global Broadcasting, which owns Channel 6, WLNE-TV.

Station General Manager Steve Doerr said Holtzer has "a great track record."

Holtzer previously was national sales manager for the YES Network in New York, which features the New York Yankees and the New Jersey Nets. He has alwo worked WSVN in Miami and KUSI in San Diego.

He said in a press release from the station that he sees "excellent growth potential at WLNE."

Channel 6, which has consistently ranked behind Channel 10 and Channel 12 in news ratings, is the local ABC affiliate.
