Dunkin' Turbo Ice.JPGA couple of retailers are holding special sales events this weekend, with jeweler Ross-Simons running a three-day "tent sale" and electronics giant Best Buy hosting frequent customers on Sunday.

Ross-Simons is bringing back its once-popular tent sale after an eight-year hiatus, set for Friday through Sunday, at its headquarters in the Howard Industrial Park off Pontiac Avenue in Cranston. All the goods at the outdoor event will be jewelry -- sold at discounts ranging from 30 percent to 80 percent. Event hours are: Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sunday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

On Sunday, Best Buy will keep its stores open two extra hours in the evening just for people who hold a "Reward Zone" card -- the company loyalty card. The first 50 Reward Zone customers who come to a Best Buy store will get a free laptop mouse. Purchases made during the event, which runs from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., will earn extra points toward price discounts.

While the retailers have set short sales events, coffee shop chain Dunkin' Donuts is running a longer-term, warm-weather, promotion in the Providence area. Dunkin' Donuts is testing a new cold-coffee product, "Iced Dunkin' Dark." The market test began in Providence on May 3, and will close on Aug. 25. Dunkin' Donuts will decided in July whether to sell the deeper-roasted flavor in other markets. The Providence area is often chosen as a Dunkin' Donuts test market because of residents' affinity for the brand.

Dunkin' Donuts is running the "Iced Dunkin' Dark" promotion while it runs a separate, shorter, promotion in the Boston market. The chain is offering free "turbo" shots in iced coffee drinks purchased through June 7. The "turbo" is a few ounces of espresso mixed into drinks to boost the caffeing and the flavor.
