By John Mulligan WASHINGTON -- Ann-Marie Harrington, who built a knack for navigating the Internet into a successful Pawtucket consulting company, is among dozens of small business leaders from around the country who will meet President Obama at the White House Tuesday to collect honors for their work. Since the mid-1990s, Harrington has built Embolden into a firm with 15 full-time employees, plus part-timers and interns, with help from a subsidized loan from the Small Business Administration. Many of the businessmen and women to be recognized today have used federally subsidized loans aimed at helping firms runs by women and members of minority groups. |
