Two Rhode Island defense contractors, Systems Engineering Associates Corp. and Syqwest Inc., have won federal contracts to support the naval Undersea Warfare Center in Newport. SEA, of Middletown, won a $23.5-million contract for support systems and network testing at land-based facilities and operational air, land and sea environments for 140 U.S. Navy programs. The company employs 320 people, including engineers, scientists, technicians and management support workers in the Aquidneck Corporate Park. Syqwest, of Warwick, won a five-year contract for up to $8.3 million to repair high-frequency sail-array modules used on Navy attack-class submarines. The company is the successor to Ocean Data Equipment Corp. |
