By Kate Bramson PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- If you're scrambling to finish your taxes Wednesday, you may want to check out some of projo.com's online tax resources. Don't forget that the main Providence post office in Corliss Park will -- for the first time in memory -- shut its doors at 9 p.m. Wednesday rather than maintaining its tradition of staying open until midnight on tax-filing day. However, if you can't make it inside by 9, you can still drop your tax returns in the blue mailboxes at the Providence post office, and they will be collected at midnight and postmarked April 15. In related news, organizers of a modern-day "tea party" hope to draw hundreds of frustrated Rhode Islanders to the State House on Wednesday afternoon as part of a national movement to fight perceived overspending at all levels of government. The event is not formally connected to any political party or interest group, but those who have pledged support largely represent fiscal conservatives concerned by the rash of recent government bailouts supported by Democrats and Republicans.
