PROVIDENCE, R.I. - After holding steady the previous week, the price of regular unleaded gasoline rose another two cents last week, according to the Rhode Island Office of Energy Resources' weekly survey of 16 stations.

The typical price at the self-serve pump was $2.10 per gallon, after the price of gasoline for May delivery showed a gradual increase during the week last week on the New York Mercantile Exchange.

Pump prices at the 13 stations offering self-service ranged from $2.06 to $2.16. The state does not disclose which stations it surveys.

The prices of self-serve unleaded plus and premium unleaded were also up two cents from the previous week. The average price for full-service regular was $2.24, up four cents from a week ago.

Diesel prices remained steady at $2.46 per gallon at the four retailers surveyed.

Home heating oil also rose four cents per gallon to $2.28. Heating oil futures were up slightly last week.

As of 10 a.m. Monday, prices for gasoline and home heating oil were down sharply.
