Amgen Inc., the California-based biotechnology company that makes Enbrel in West Greenwich, is cutting 100 jobs at its clinical drug manufacturing site in the Seattle suburb of Bothell, Wash. Carol Pawlak, a spokeswoman, told the Associated Press the cutbacks are not part of any larger companywide reductions. The drugmaker has 17,000 employees worldwide. Pawlak said the company is merging clinical drug trial work at its Bothell facility with operations at its company headquarters in The cutbacks leave about 70 employees in Bothell, and nearly 900 in Washington state. |
