The U.S. Commerce Department's Economic Development Administration has granted $60,000 to the Southeastern Regional Planning and Economic Development District in Taunton, Mass., to continue economic development planning.
Sandra R. Walters, EDA Chief Financial Officer/Chief Administrative Officer, said, "This EDA grant will continue an economic development planning program that will work to boost business development and job growth in the region."
EDA supports the economic development needs of distressed communities throughout the United States. Its mission is to lead the federal economic development agenda by promoting innovation and competitiveness and preparing American regions for growth and success in the worldwide economy.
