Dunkin' Donuts on Wednesday launched an online doughnut recipe contest topped with a sweet $12,000 grand prize. Beginning Wednesday and running through April 7, visitors to www.DunkinDonuts.com/donut can create a virtual doughnut concoction from among dozens of flavors, toppings, fillings and shapes. A dozen finalists will be chosen to travel to the Dunkin' Donuts training center in Braintree, Mass., in May for a bake-off to pick the winning entry. The public also will be invited to vote for their favorite finalist online beginning May 15. Dunkin' Donuts will announce the winner of the contest on June 5, and the best recipe will be used at Dunkin' Donuts shops nationwide. To coincide with "Create Dunkin's Next Donut," participating Dunkin' Donuts locations are also offering to include a doughnut for 49 cents with the purchase of any medium or larger hot coffee.
