A blog written by the office of General Treasurer Frank Caprio reported that statistic, counting 1,020,000 sites that refer to Del's. The "Big Blue Bug," the New England Pest Control mascot, also breaks the 1 million mark on Google.

Del's was founded in 1948, when Angelo DeLucia opened a 100-square-foot hut on Oaklawn Avenue in Cranston, "so cramped that he had to knock down a wall to accommodate a new ice cream maker in 1952," The Providence Journal reported.
