It's not your imagination.

Gasoline prices in Rhode Island are inching up. The average price of a gallon of regular, self-serve gasoline today is about $1.78, according to a survey by the state Office of Energy Resources.

That's up about 7 cents a gallon from last week's average of about $1.71 -- an increase of 4 percent in one week.

It's still a far cry from the record-setting prices of more than $4 a gallon reached in June and July.

You can check Rhode Island gas prices over time by using the Office of Energy Resources's Web site.
