Gas prices in Rhode Island have increased for the third straight week, according to AAA Southern New England. The average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded gasoline has increased nine cents to $1.839 at the self-service pump, according to AAA's weekly survey. The price has increased 19 cents over the past three weeks, when prices began increasing again after they started to decline on Labor Day. Rhode Island drivers were paying $3.07 at this time last year.
