Gilbane Inc., based in Providence, has been included on the 12th annual "100 Best Companies to Work For" list compiled by Fortune magazine. One of the driving factors for inclusion on the list is that the companies excel at creating jobs. Of the 100 companies on the list, 73 are currently hiring. Gilbane, locally-controlled and owned by the Gilbane family, currently has 25 job openings, said Wes Cotter, director of communications. Gilbane employs 2,169 employees in the U.S. The full list of companies and related stories will appear in the Feb. 2 issue of Fortune magazine.
