| No tax hikes needed to close R.I. budget gap, Gov. Carcieri says »
Pittsfield, Mass.,-based toy retailer KB Toys, said today that it has dropped prices on more than 400 toys, most to the lowest prices of the year. "Today through Nov. 12, all stores will be participating in this incredible event," the company said in a press release. Retailers have been offering up price cuts and discount programs for weeks now, hoping to generate sales during what's expected to by the worst holiday shopping season since the aftermath of the 2001 terrorist attacks. "Guests can choose from hot, new items and traditional favorites, all at tremendous savings," according to Andy Bailen, the company's chief executive officer. "Plus, with a $30 purchase, guests will receive $10 in Bonus Bucks." A Bonus Bucks card is good towards a future purchase of $30 or more, KB said.
