Holt named chairman, CEO of Domestic Bank

Dean T. Holt, former chairman, president and chief executive officer of Fleet Bank in Rhode Island, has been named president and chief executive officer of Domestic Bank, in Cranston.

He replaces Nathaniel B. Baker, who has retired after running Domestic Bank since it opened in 1967.

"We are extremely fortunate to have such a highly respected and talented banking expert join the Domestic Bank family," said Craig Baker, Domestic Bank executive vice president. "Mr. Holt brings a wealth of knowledge to the organization and we look forward to his contributions in guiding operations and strategic planning, both critical to our long-term success."

Holt, 68, of West Greenwich, began his banking career at Chemical Bank in 1965, joining Fleet Bank in 1977 as its vice president and senior lending representative, national division. He served at many levels before becoming Fleet Bank-RI's chairman, president and CEO in 1995. A graduate of New York University, Holt also attended the Stonier Graduate School of Banking, Rutgers University, and the Graduate School of Business at New York University.
