A Cranston developer, Jeffrey Saletin, today proposed the construction of a 120-room, hotel, two "family-style" restaurants, a bank and a retail complex on the site of the old Stuarts plaza on Hartford Ave. in Johnston. Saletin estimated the cost of the first phase of the project at $30 million. Johnston Mayor Joseph Polisena endorsed the project at an announcement ceremony today and said the site of the development had become an eyesore after businesses vacated the area many years ago.
