The Secretary of State's office says businesspeople can talk to the government officials who regulate their companies at a free expo today at Warwick's Crowne Plaza Hotel. People can meet with public officials about registering a business, financing, taxes, licensing, and permits. The expo will also offer free workshops on networking, customer service and marketing. The idea is for entrepreneurs to talk about problems affecting their business and to get information they will need to start, grow or improve their business. The expo, Every Company Counts, is being offered by the Rhode Island Economic Development Corporation and the secretary of state in what they bill as a way to make it easier for businesses to get forms, make contacts and get answers from government. Among 70 organizations expected at the expo are the City of Warwick, the U.S. Small Business Administration and the state Department of Environmental Management. The expo runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. "We Mean Business gives entrepreneurs a place to turn when they are looking for help from the public sector," Secretary of State Ralph Mollis said in the news release.
