A business is moving to Rhode Island soon -- and its impact and scope will be significant, according to Governor Carcieri. "We're going to have a good announcement in a couple of weeks," he told the state Economic Policy Council at a meeting in Providence earlier today. He said a business will relocate to Rhode Island and it will be "a real win for us". He declined to identify the business or offer other details. But in an interview afterward, he said that the business will be moving to Rhode Island from another state. The move shows that Rhode Island's efforts to attract and retain businesses are working, said Saul Kaplan, executive director of the Rhode Island Department of Economic Development. |
