A prominent, office building in downtown Providence, formerly known as the Bank of America building and before that the Fleet Center, is undergoing a multi-million dollar renovation of the lobby and retail spaces to give the landmark a new identity. The owner, O'Connor Capital Partners, has renamed the building 100 Westminster for its street address in the city's financial district. The New York-based real estate investment firm declined to estimate the cost of the renovation to the rose-colored granite and emerald green reflective glass façade and interior space. The 20-story building has 340,746 square feet of office space and 19,420 square feet of retail space. The lobby is undergoing renovations to provide a separate office identity and a more customer-friendly retail streetscape with exterior entrances to the stores. An underground garage provides on-site parking for 120 cars. O'Connor Capital Partners, a privately-held company, purchased the property from Bank of America in November 2006 for $58 million, according to public records. Current tenants include Bank of America; Nortek; Hinckley, Allen & Snyder; Providence Equity Partners; Nautic Partners; Merrill Lynch; Wachovia; KPMG; Weil, Gotshal & Manges; and AON Risk Services. The lobby houses retail tenants including FedEx and Au Bon Pain. Read more in Wednesday's Busness Section in The Providence Journal CommentsLeave a comment |

This great old building was just this week seen in an episode of "Terminator the Sarah Connor Chronicles" in an episode called "A self made man". It was featured briefly and fictitiously referred to as the "Pico tower". A 1920's era building in Los Angeles.
