The owners of the 1149 restaurant on Division Street in Warwick are expected this month to unveil plans for a second eatery, this one in Seekonk. About 15 months ago, partners John G. Picerne and Thomas L. Wright spent more than $7 million to buy and renovate a restaurant on the Warwick-East Greenwich line, just east of the Showcase Cinemas. The location had served as the home to a string of successful restaurants dating back to the 1960s, until its last owner fell into financial trouble. Picerne and Wright spent $3.75 million to buy the restaurant operation in an auction overseen by a Superior Court judge and about $2.5 million more in a separate transaction for the property. They opened 1149 a year ago after renovating the building and property. The restaurant has received positive dining reviews ever since. Now Picerne and Wright, through their TFG Holdings LLC, have purchased a Bickford's Grille location, at 965 Fall River Ave., in Seekonk, according to a statement put out by the company. Representatives of TFG Holdings are working on preliminary plans for redeveloping the site into a second restaurant. CommentsLeave a comment |
