Rhode Island drivers taking a July 4th vacation will pay an average of $1.17 more per gallon this year, according to AAA Southern New England.
Although AAA's weekly survey found gasoline prices unchanged from last week at $4.099 per gallon, the price has increased dramatically since last July 4th when drivers were paying $2.929 per gallon.
Rhode Island drivers are paying one cent more than the national average.
