Journal photo / Mary Murphy
The door opens today from the front porch of 216 Garden St. to the Residences at Garden Street, formerly the site of the McAloon-Kelly Funeral Home.
Public officials and representatives of the state Housing Resources Commission gathered in Pawtucket this morning to celebrate the completion of the Residences at Garden Street.
Formerly the site of McAloon-Kelly Funeral Home, at 213 Garden St., the vacant building has been transformed into homes which will provide services for six chronically homeless and disabled men.

You have got to be kidding. That place is a 6700 square foot air-conditioned mansion, now taken off the tax rolls by yet another non-profit.
Stupid me, I have been sweating bullets by working all these years in order to keep a roof over my head. Is there a waiting list to get in, or do you have to know somebody, 'cause I sure never heard of it.
How many politicians showed up to lay their claim to the six lucky voters?
