RI small business owners win national award

Cheryl Snead, president and chief executive officer, and Roland Snead, executive vice president of Banneker Industries, of North Smithfield, have won the National Subcontractor of the Year award from the U.S. Small Business Administration.

The pair were honored at a luncheon yesterday in Washington as part of National Small Business Week.

Banneker specializes in precision-machined defense components and offers supply chain management services for the federal government and private sector.
