The state’s top airport official says that the proposed Delta-Northwest merger isn’t likely to have any impact on TF Green Airport.

Though neither airline has talked about what route changes they might make as a merged company, Kevin Dillon, president and chief executive officer of the Rhode Island Airport Corporation, doesn’t anticipate any changes to operations at T.F. Green Airport in Warwick.

“I would anticipate that the impact would be minimal, if any impact at all,” Dillon said in a telephone interview. “They all serve essentially different parts of the country.”

In fact, Dillon said, the merger could benefit the airport.
Merging of the two companies, he said, “could lead to reconfiguration of their fleet mix - that could lead to some of the regional jets that Delta is operating here being upsized into full sized jets.”

“I don't really see any negative at this point,” he added.
