The grounding of more than 1,000 American Airlines flights yesterday, after 460 flights were scrubbed the day before, has had little impact on passengers at T.F. Green Airport. The MD 80 aircraft that were pulled from flight schedules and are being checked by maintenance workers no longer fly from Green, said Patti Goldsetin, an airport spokeswoman. She said Green does offer three daily American Eagle flights to Chicago. One of those flights was cancelled yesterday. She added it is more than likely that there may be an impact to customers who are flying into O'Hare Airport in Chicago and are connecting onto other American flights. She also said that with Rhode Island's school vacation week about the begin, very high load factors are projected for Friday and Saturday. |
