The U.S, Treasury has chosen Robert Jackson of Middletown to serve on the nationwide Taxpayer Advocacy Panel, which provides taxpayer input directly to the IRS. Jackson is one of 98 volunteers from across the country who will serve on the panel. He was selected from more than 400 people who applied through an open recruitment period last spring, the IRS said today. Members of the panel listen to taxpayers, identify issues and make suggestions for improving IRS service and customer satisfaction. "The Taxpayer Advocacy Panel members provide a valuable voice and help improve processes within the IRS," Acting IRS Commissioner Linda Stiff said in a statement. “Serving their country with tax administration advice is an excellent example of volunteers making a difference in America.” |
