Governor Carcieri sits beside Richard Seline, president of New Economy Strategies, the consulting firm hired by the Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce to study the Providence economy.

The Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce has launched a survey of local businesses as part of a new study of the Providence economy.

In calling for participation, the chamber has asked businesses "to become engaged in a new effort to transform the city and region into a hotbed for entrepreneurial activity, investment and job growth."

The survey is available on the chamber's Web site: www.providencechamber.com. The deadline to complete a survey is Thursday, Jan. 31.
