U.S. Rep. James R. Langevin will participate in a roundtable discussion with members of The New England Council on Thursday at The Westin Providence hotel.

“I look forward to discussing my priorities for 2008 with members of the council and taking their questions,” Langevin said in a statement today. “These are challenging times for our nation but I believe we are ready to bring an end to the war in Iraq and to focus more attention on domestic priorities such as affordable health care and education.”

The event is scheduled to begin at noon and end at 1:30 p.m. The council describes itself as "New England's voice on Capitol Hill" on issues including education, technology, health care and financial services.
