Star Gas, the Connecticut company that owns Petro, one of Rhode island's largest home heating oil dealers, said this morning that it lost 5 percent of its cusomer base for the fiscal year that ended Sept. 30. Star (SGU:NYSE) also said that revenues for the fiscal year were $1.3 billion, off 2.3 percent from the prior year. Star said the results do not include gains from the acquisitions of 19,400 customers from seven retail heating oil dealers it acquired during the year.
