Workers at Foxwoods in Mashantucket, Conn. today will hoist an MGM Grand marquee, with gold letters and signature MGM Grand lion, onto the side of the 30-story hotel and casino under construction next to the existing gambling resort. The work represents the next stage in the partnership between Foxwoods and MGM Mirage, the Las Vegas-based gambling and entertainment company, to build a $700 million project that includes a 825-room hotel tower, a 50,000 square foot casino with 1,500 slot machines and 45 table games and a 4,000 seat theater. The new enterprise is scheduled to open in the Spring.
